Daniel Dale, CNN
Daniel Dale is a reporter in CNN’s Washington Bureau, where he fact-checks President Trump, 2020 presidential candidates and others. Prior to joining CNN, Dale spent over a decade at the Toronto Star, including as Washington Bureau Chief from 2015 to 2019, where he was the first journalist to fact-check every false statement from Trump.
Dr. Sara Bannerman, McMaster University
Sara Bannerman holds the Canada Research Chair in Communication Policy and Governance. She researches traditional forms of governance such as copyright, intellectual property, and privacy law, as well as governance undertaken through non-state actors: governance by code, technologies, and private companies.
Dr. Taylor Owen, McGill University
Taylor Owen hold the Beaverbrook Chair in Media, Ethics and Communications at the Max Bell School of Public Policy. He was previously the Research Director of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University where he led a program studying the impact of digital technology on the practice of journalism. He has held teaching and research positions at UBC, Columbia Journalism School, Yale, LSE, and the International Peace Research Institute, Oslo. His work focuses on the intersection between information technology, media, and international affairs.
